LOCATION
The plot of land is located in Prague - Hostivař close to a railway. It lies between an area of villa houses (in the east) and an area of apartment buildings (in the west). The elevation difference between the west and the east edge of the plot is approximately 3 meters. There is a bus stop, a cable car stop, and a train station within walking distance. Markets, supermarkets, and several restaurants are nearby. Educational facilities such as nurseries elementary schools, secondary schools, and musical schools are in the area as well.
CONCEPT
The composition of the mass of the building connects with taller apartment buildings on one side and with smaller villa houses on the other. The mass is segmented towards the villa houses, and it creates a compact counterbalance towards the apartment buildings. The North facade is faced with the noise of the railway, which is why there is a courtyard balcony covered with a net supporting creeping greenery creating a noise barrier. The greenery also makes a smooth connection between the building and the park behind it.
The project was made in a team with Jindřich Pavlišta.
